A Veil Between Worlds [Military Academy|Progression]

When the Veil is torn, the toll of the seven bells will mark the beginning of the end. The Otherworld looms ever closer, the Golden Sands burn ever brighter, and the Old Gods have forsaken us – so has declared the Vermillion Witch.   As the distance between two worlds closes, disaster and ruin threatens the Empire of Eldoria. Midhir, a young man still searching for meaning in his life finds himself in the company of a foreigner, a noble of ancient lineage, and the daughter of a renowned swordsman as he starts his first year in the prestigious Solus Military Academy. What should be a time of growth and learning soon turns into a time of conflict and terror. Otherworldly threats loom over the group as they try to survive while Eldoria is faced with not only threats from within, but also from without. War brews on the horizon, only hastened by leaps in technological advancements. Midhir is forced to choose a path for himself as his humanity slowly begins to slip through his fingers as he learns more about the past hidden behind a veil. Will the truth break him, or set him free?   What to expect: - A small cast of main characters who form close bonds with each other. - Progression in power. - No stats/skill names/gamified progression levels. - A focus on character growth - Detailed worldbuilding, no infodumps. - Inspired by: Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Trails of Cold Steel, The Wheel of Time, and many others.
