Convergent Evolution: A Pokémon Chronicle

The World of Pokémon is a vast and strange place filled with fantastic creatures and sights of beauty and majesty unlike anywhere else, so when a denizen of Earth finds herself in that world, she’s elated and surprised at how different and yet similar the two worlds were. Convergent evolution is the independent evolution of similar features in species of different periods and epochs in time. Features and adaptations evolved again and again and again: flight, four different times, body plans and eyes, dozens upon dozens of times, all consequences of the evolutionary process on Earth. But across the vastness of the World of Pokémon, a world as far from home as one could imagine, how far can that process go? Well, that one denizen of Earth gets to find out, and the entire book has to be thrown out.
