Curse of the Crimson Queen

Book One of the Ravenshards Saga. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What to expect – Ravenshards is set to be a four-book long series, averaging about 150.000 words per books. – No Isekai, No LitRPG, no GameLit! – Actual story is ~20.000 words ahead of what is already published, so you can have weekly updates even if I fail to deliver my weekly goals. – Chapter length may be a bit longer than usual, about 5.000 each. – The story is to be written, no matter what. The Veil had always separated the mortal world from the Gods’ Realms. Now it is torn; the faelin pours into the world. Only a few can control its turbulent waves through the power of gemstones, and even less can call themselves Reborn: people whom the faelin touched and gave great gifts – or curses. As nightmares come alive in Amrith, King Bryne ventures on a dire mission to the heart of the land to save the kingdom from the decay that has been festering there for years. Chaos sweeps across the land as the King falls victim to treason, and his people needs to forge new alliances to take up arms against the very land itself. Great and dark powers lurk amid the shadows, and mankind turns against itself while the once noble servants of the Gods, now corrupted, seep through the Veil - and the Crimson Queen has been awakened from her ancient slumber.
