DNA the Awakened (Demons and Angels) A Slice of Life, GameLitRPG, Academy Apocalypse

Winner in the Royal Road Writathon challenge! Alright, get ready for a tale that’s going to hit harder than finding out your favorite character just got nerfed. Meet Dominique “Dom” DuMonte, a girl who’s so far from “normal” she might as well have her own Wikipedia entry. Hiding powers that would make most superheroes green with envy? Check. Navigating high school without blowing her cover? Attempted but not always successful. And then there’s the tiny little problem of apocalyptic visions and shadowy attacks that seem to think she’s their prime target. Yeah, not exactly “just another day in Pasadena.” Enter Nile Kinnison, her best friend who’s not as “normal” as he likes to pretend. Turns out, he’s got some buried powers of his own, along with a destiny tied to some ancient prophecy that could either save the world or doom it faster than you can say “final boss.” Oh, and did I mention Ash? The mysterious transfer who knows way more than she’s letting on - like, I’m-pretty-sure-she’s-got-the-DLC kind of knowledge. Her agenda? Let’s just say it’s not looking great for Dom and Nile’s health bar. Together, Dom, Nile, and Ash are dropped straight into a cosmic mess of angels, demons, and powers that have “game-breaking” written all over them. They’re leveling up faster than a speedrunner on caffeine, but every skill they unlock comes with a bigger, deadlier challenge. It’s all part of a celestial RPG they never signed up for - and one they can’t exactly log out of. Expect high school drama with a side of holy wars, skill trees that’ll make your head spin, and quests that range from “Don’t Flunk Chemistry” to “Save the World.” If you like GameLit RPGs with just enough apocalypse to keep things spicy, welcome to DNA: The Awakened. And remember: Dom might be trying to keep her powers under wraps, but in a world where demons and destiny don’t play by the rules, there’s only so long before the game levels her up – ready or not. Readers can expect: A Slice of Life start to a GameLitRPG adventure grounded in a high school setting, where leveling up powers and unraveling quests are as important as dealing with real-world challenges. Dom, Nile, and Ash must balance their everyday lives with uncovering the dangerous forces lurking beneath their seemingly normal school. This story is about: Dom struggling to hide her growing Denural powers while maintaining a normal high school life, Nile uncovering his role in an ancient prophecy, and Ash deciding where her true loyalties lie. Together, they’ll have to face both supernatural threats and personal dilemmas, where every choice leads them deeper into a war that spans realms.
