Echoes

There are only two respected authorities in Arthas, the corruption of corporate greed, and the violence of the gangs. Alex was just doing what she always does in the city of broken dreams, minding her own damn business, apparently the residents took offence to that. Little did she know that a bat to the brain qualifies her to be a part of the Self Enhancement System, which has a tendency to shift life quite dramatically, especially for those who’ve lost the genetic lottery.  With each step of growth new opportunities present themselves, with each passing moment more of the city reveals itself, and Alex becomes an unwilling witness to the rot that infests this place down to its bones. There isn’t much one girl can do about it though is there? Even with the aid of something magical, there are millions that actively enforce the status quo, and she knows little of how to even confront them.  But she’ll try. Because this is her home - Hello and welcome! Echoes is planned to touch on...darker topics than my past or future works.  So as an advanced content warning:Nothing is off the table for discussion in this series, I'll do my best to treat every topic we cover with respect and would appreciate it if you called me out if I ever fail in this. I'll still provide a chapter content warning if some messed up things happens so you don't have to worry about getting surprised. Anyway! The cover is AI, I got help from a homey on the immersive ink discord to put this lovely thing together (they made the og one much better). Once I have the money i'll commission an artist for an official cover, right now this is for visibility :P
