Legend of Ascension: The Nine Realms [A xianxia cultivation adventure]

In a qi-starved backwater of the Dragon Empire, He Yu dreams of becoming a cultivator of legend. Although the local expert won’t teach someone so weak, he isn’t about to let that stop him. Worse, the expert's star pupil is his childhood bully. Everything changes when an immortal from the nearby Shrouded Peaks Sect organizes a tournament. He Yu jumps at the chance to prove his worth, and soon he's on his way to the Shrouded Peaks as a new outer disciple. He quickly learns the stories don't tell everything. As the weakest disciple of the outer sect by far, he has a lot of catching up to do. His rival from back home is there to make his life hell, and he's only got six months to prove his worth before the sect tosses him out and sends him home. With only a small window to cultivate, gather allies, and grow in strength, He Yu only has one chance to forge his legend. One chance to shake the Dragon Empire. To shake the heavens. He's going to make it count. What to expect: Slow burn weak to very strong cultivation epic with a righteous lead. Progression tied to character growth. Familiar tropes you know and love. Sometimes subverted, sometimes played straight. Updates every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 3 PM Pacific Time. Cover art by Emma Rottersman (https://emmarillustrations.artstation.com).
