Only Human

Sanguine Mythmaker: Book #1 Alaric Ashford, a washed-up author and former "gifted kid," is haunted by the ghosts of his past. Bullied by classmates and neglected by cold, semi-abusive parents, he’s withdrawn into a life of isolation, his world shrinking every year. His parents' murder, arranged by a sadistic bully from his childhood, drove him to drop out of college, leaving him trapped in a dingy apartment with nothing but his dwindling inheritance and unfulfilled potential. Convinced that success will eventually come to him, Alaric continues his cycle of procrastination, drug abuse, and bitterness, nearing his end. But when the universe merges into a vast multiverse and an omnipotent system reshapes reality, Alaric faces a choice: finally take control of his fate, or let his arrogance and disconnection drag him into oblivion.
