Path of Power [Magic School LitRPG]

Modern Earth already had mages and monsters, but now it's getting a system... Alfie is an ordinary young man living an ordinary life London, until the true nature of reality hits him like a ton of bricks. Magic is bloody real. Supernatural creatures live and breathe. Arcane Academies exist. And Alfie's got a personal invitation to one. Except this academy has a secret. Its true purpose is more intriguing (and, if Alfie’s honest, more awesome), than he could have ever imagined. But learning how to harness the system and cavorting with his fellow mages is merely the beginning of Alfie’s journey. The world of this story has a system that is superimposed over a “hidden magical world” urban fantasy. Imagine your favorite magical school story where the powers-that-be decide to up the ante by changing the fabric of reality so that magic now operates according to LitRPG style rules.     This story might be reminiscent of certain other magic school adventures, but it has its own twists. It’s a tribute to those stories, but with an older and (somewhat) more mature cast. There are elements of isekai, urban fantasy, magical academy, and good old fashioned British comedy. There’s action, progression, intrigue, humor, and a little slice of (magical) life.
