Unparalleled Artist - Unlikely Hero

Expectations can be hard to defy and a family's history can be impossible to escape. After the murder of his father, Wu Ling's mother returned to her life as a courtesan, disguising him as a young girl to meet the strict requirements of her sect. For years, Wu Ling has hidden himself in soft silks under a layer of makeup and mannerisms. Now, after years of hiding himself away, Wu Ling is finally ready to step onto the path of cultivation, not to avenge his murdered father, but to follow his heart as an artist and care for his crippled mother.  If only his family's enemies would let him go. Haunted by conflicts, Wu Ling is drawn into an increasingly shadowed world where he must find ways to fight back with the skills of an artist. From enchanting melodies to empowered calligraphy, Wu Ling will use everything he can to find his way in the world.
