GRAVID

In a nowhere town in northern Maine, sixteen-year-old Freya Jokela has been sinking since her freshman year. Shattered by her father’s death, and growing increasingly distant from her controlling mother Lassa , Freya is foundering in her classes and all her friends are drifting away. After her ex, Malcom has a girl beat her up, Freya can't find the will to drag herself out of the rain. That night she decides to drown herself in the Sillas River. As she reaches the bottom, everything changes. An extraordinary new way of seeing opens Freya to new chances, new friends, and new love. When the traumas of the past threaten to capsize the promise of the future, her greatest friend becomes her worst enemy. Can she find the strength to rise? GRAVID explores the fraught intersection of trauma and telepathy. Reader discretion is advised.  Want to read a chapter ahead and support the editing of this work? Visit https://www.patreon.com/zakzyz
